Would like a bit of advice if possible...
We're flying to Meeru in June next year for our honeymoon, and are flying Emirates from Birmingham to Dubai, then on to Meeru.

We'd like to know if anyone else has done this, and if so, what their experience was like of the flights... Is the jet lag quite bad when you arrive? Whats Dubai airport like for changing on to the Meeru flight? The second leg takes off at about 3am Dubai time - how long is the flight to Meeru from there?

Any advice or info on flying this route greatly appreciated!

Cheers

We have flown from Manchester via Dubai to both Male & Bangkok.
Once you check-in at the UK airport you do not see your luggage until your final destination.
Both times we have had a minimal wait in Dubai, just enough time to browse the gold counters and stretch the legs.
Once at the hotel you will quickly forget the travel time.

Hi trancemonkey,

Birmingham - Dubai flight time is approx 7 hours 55 mins.
Dubai - Male flight is approx 4 hours.

Personally we always set our watches to the local time for our destination when boarding in UK which seems to help with any jet lag.

Dubai is a very busy airport but this may have eased somewhat as Emirates flights now use their dedicated brand new Terminal 3 for all their flights & all new amenities.

Excellent airline with superb food, staff & great ICE entertainment system on board (you will not get bored...promise!)

Have you joined Skywards (frequent flyer program)? You get to pre-book your seats / dietry requirements free of charge well in advance.

Have a great honeymoon...

Casey

Hi Tracemonkey

We did the Emirates Birmingham flight in April this year and it was quite brilliant.

As Casey says, you mill be advised to join Skywards and pre book your seats ( no charge) and go for the twin seats at the rear of the plane.
General seating is 3- 5- 3 but for the last 4 0r 5 rows at the rear the 3 change to two.
Check out notes and phone numbers on previous post.
http://meeru.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6549&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=emirates+seat+booking&start=15

You will need your flight details to hand when phoning Manchester.

Good luck and happy honeymoon, please come back if you need further info.
