Hi all,
I have just joined the forum, please be gentle with me!
Myself and my wife Gem are going to Meeru in just over 3 weeks. We are staying in a JWV and was wondering if there were better JWV's to stay in. I haven't requested one specifically?
Also if anyone is in Meeru at the same time, lets meet up for a drinky?
We are going full board. We decided not to go AI as it was an additional £600 for the 2 of us, Neither of us are particularly big drinkers, but was wondering how much drinks are? Specifically Diet coke and a beer?
I look forward to your responces and chatting with you all.
Regards
Stu |

Hi StuandGem & welcome to the forum
You can check out the prices for drinks HERE
Other bars on the island are roughly the same beverage menu but you can check them out HERE.
I'm sure you are quite aware that a large intake of water daily is advised to stay hydrated due to the heat & humidity. You can always upgrade to AI if you feel the need to on Meeru

Hi Casey,
Thanks for your reply.
I have thought about upgrading to AI but after looking at the prices of drinks, I can't see me spending £600 / $1000 on drinks.
As I mentioned in a previous message, we are not really big drinkers although I do enjoy a wee dram or 2...
Talking of wee drams, does anyone know if we are allowed to bring a bottle of spirits onto the Island from the UK?
We'll soon see, we go in 3 weeks!!

Alcohol will be confiscated at Male when your luggage is x-rayed again. (you will be able to get it back on your departure). Along with other products I wouldn't bother trying. It is a Muslim country as you may know but alcohol is freely available in the resorts.

Stu and Gem,
check the calendar to see the people going that have added their names to the list. We fly out on the 30th March so will be there at the same time as you.
We too were/are in two minds about requesting a room. Think we might just wait and see what we're dealt when we land. Although the decked area of the Malaan is tugging me in her direction a little! |

Hi Stu,
You'll have to let us know what the JWV's are like when you get back as we're staying in one next January! Hope you have a great time, not long for you now! |

Hiya, we to are going to be flying in for two weeks on the 2nd arriving the 3rd. We stayed in the JWV last time we were there and there are pro's and cons for both. The 300s? i think, are newer and closer to reception etc, but the 700s are in the area where there are less children, they are older though and the other end of the island to reception. I guess it depends on your preference.
We are flying out BA so keeping our fingers crossed all will be on time! |
